The Community Access Mentoring Program (CAM) was designed to support middle school children and their families. We believe that parents can contribute to the success of our mentoring program by being informed and engaged in the activities that we are able to access for each child. We want to help parents with some of the overwhelming amounts of responsibilities that exist when parenting middle school students today.
Your middle school child may be referred to the Community Access Mentoring Program by school personnel or you may contact us if you believe your child would benefit from participating in this program.
After your child is enrolled in CAM, he or she will be matched to a mentor that will provide in-school mentoring and help with identifying suitable afterschool programs. The mentor, known as the Access Coach, will be in continual contact with you, your child and the afterschool programs to ensure that your child is doing well in whatever programs are recommended.
Please be assured that our Access Coaches are carefully screened and that parental consent is obtained before a student is allowed to participate in the program.
Please see information elsewhere in this website for more detail about mentoring in general and the specific goals of the Community Access Mentoring Program.
We are currently located in Manhattan Middle School, 290 Manhattan Drive, Room 162 and can be contacted at 303-494-0335 or you can reach Patti Ashley, Program Coordinator directly at 720-203-6844.
